FILTERING EMAIL IN MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2000/2002

In the full version of Outlook, setting up rules for filtering mail is similar to Outlook Express, but you have a few more options.  To begin, click on the Tools menu and select "Rules Wizard."  That should bring up the following window:

Select the mailbox for which you would like to filter mail.  In this case, the main Inbox is selected, which is most likely what you will want to select.  Then click the New button on the right side of the window.  That should bring up the following window:

At this point, you can choose whether to create a new rule based on a template or make a new rule from scratch.  The first option in the list of templates is the most commonly used.  It filters mail into a specific folder based on the sender of the e-mail.  To modify this rule, click on blue underlined text in the box under "Rule description" (much like in Outlook Express - see above).  This will allow you to enter the e-mail address of the sender and the folder you would like the mail to be moved to.  Follow the same directions if you choose to use different templates.

If the rule you would like to create is not available in the list of templates, you may create your own rule.
