| CONFIGURING
EMAIL FEEDBACK FORMS |
|
 |
If you have a feedback form, program or other script
on your web site that requires use of our mail server, you MAY
need to reference our mail server name within your page or
script to get it to function properly.
If your web site...
- Uses a CGI/Perl Form-to-email script
- Uses any other type of script, ASP or program that
relies on a valid mail server
You may use our mail server to process your web site's
mail server needs. However, you will need to refer to your
particular script's documentation for the correct syntax to use.
If you are using a Microsoft® FrontPage®
generated feedback form...
- You do not have to configure any special settings
to use our mail server. Your FrontPage feedback forms
are automatically supported without any additional
configuration.
A few caveats regarding FrontPage forms...
- You will need to publish your FrontPage forms with
the FrontPage Explorer. FrontPage Feedback forms that
are uploaded with FTP will not function properly.
- You will need to configure your FrontPage feedback
form to send e-mail to a valid e-mail address.
- If you wish to reply to messages sent to you via a
FrontPage feedback form, you will need to make sure that you
have provided an e-mail address field for your visitor to
use, and make sure that it is a required field that they are
not permitted to leave it blank.
- When you reply to a message sent from a FrontPage
feedback form, make sure that you are replying to a valid
e-mail address as supplied by your web site visitor.
