Transferring your domain name
If you are the listed Administrative Contact for your domain,
and your email address on your domain record is UP-TO-DATE:
Upon receipt of your request for web hosting or other
services for your domain, Acme will initiate a domain name
transfer request via e-mail on your behalf. If you are
listed as the Administrative Contact for your domain name, we
will generate the necessary DOMAIN MODIFICATION TEMPLATE which
you will receive via e-mail. We will also forward
instructions on how to submit the domain modification template
to Network Solutions (NSI).
If you are not the listed Administrative Contact for your
domain, or if the e-mail contact address on your domain record
is OUT-OF-DATE:
Acme will initiate a domain name transfer request via
FAX on your behalf. We will email the domain modification
template to NSI to generate a TRACKING NUMBER for your domain
transfer request. We will forward this tracking number to
you along with detailed instructions on how to complete your
domain name transfer request via fax.
About Network Solutions (NSI) domain transfer procedure:
Fortunately, not just anyone can submit a request to
change your domain name record. There are safeguards in
place to assure that only authorized individuals can update your
domain name record.
NSI has an automated system in place that will
attempt to verify that any domain modification request submitted
to NSI via email has originated from an email address listed on
your domain name record. The default method for updating a
domain record is via an email request sent from either the
listed Administrative or Technical contact.
If the request cannot be verified by the email
address, NSI requires a letter
of authorization from the Registrant (the domain name owner
listed on your domain record).
