Can more than one domain name point to my web
site?
Absolutely. You can have as many
domain names pointed to your web site hosting account as you
require. There are two service options for multiple domain
names: Domain Pointer and Redirected URL.
DOMAIN POINTER
For a modest one time set up fee, Acme
will configure your web site and our DNS servers to answer to
multiple domain names. There is no additional monthly fee,
and you can add as many domain names to your site as you like. Keep
in mind that each of your 'pointed' domain names will point to
your existing home page (root web).
If you need the additional domain name to
point to something different than your home page (like a
subdirectory or a different page in your site), OR if the new
domain needs to have different webmaster authoring permissions,
you may need to set up the domain with its own hosting account.
URL REDIRECTION
If you are interested in having an
additional domain name to point to a sub-directory or any other
page in your web site other than your root web/home page, URL
Redirection may be an option for you. Each Redirected URL
can appear as a separate and unique web site to your web
visitors, yet you only have one web account to manage and
maintain.
Typically URL Redirection is used if a
company or organization has several unique products lines,
services or trade names, all related to the same business, that
would benefit from a distinct home page and web address.
Employing multiple domain names can provide added flexibility in
the marketing and advertising of a company's varied products and
services.
For example, a publishing company that
distributes dozens of book titles may benefit from unique domain
names for each, without the added cost and logistics of setting
up individual and separate web hosting accounts.
The 'Redirected URL' service is $10/mo. -
1/2 the cost of purchasing a completely separate hosting
account. Certain technical limitations may apply when

URL Redirection is not
intended for use in hosting web sites for other parties or
companies under your account.
