For Domain Name transfers and updates.

Copy the following sample letter onto your Organization's letterhead or stationery.

 

LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION VIA FACSIMILE TO (703) 742-9552 For Domain Name Record Modifications Date: October 01, 2001 To: Network Solutions, Inc. 505 Huntmar Park Drive Herndon, VA 20170 ATTN: InterNIC Registration Services RE: Domain Name: yourdomain.com Tracking #: NIC-xxxxxxxxx Dear Network Solutions, On behalf of Your Company Name (the Registrant for the above-referenced domain name(s)), I request Network Solutions to modify the domain name registration record(s) in accordance with the instructions appearing in each corresponding Domain Name Registration Agreement. I am authorized by the Registrant to make this request. Thank you, Signed: ____________________________________ Name: Your Name Title: Your Corporate Title (Must be Officer of Corporation) Phone: Your phone number Email:  Your e-mail address

Please substitute your domain name, NIC tracking number and other information where indicated.  Sign the letter and fax to Network Solutions at (703) 742-9552. Please retain your fax transmission receipt including the date, time and number from which the fax is sent.

A FEW OTHER TIPS:

The above fax should be enough to get the domain name transferred.  However, if you have faxed the above letter and your domain name has not transferred within a few days, you can attempt to expedite your domain transfer by following up via phone to Network Solutions.  You can reach them from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday-Friday at (703) 742-4777.  Have your tracking number ready when you call.  They will not be able to assist you without it.

Please bear in mind that we have no authority to negotiate any domain name transfer with NSI, except our own. Only the domain owner and the currently listed Administrative and Technical Contacts can negotiate with the Network Solutions. Providing advice on what you can do to expedite the transfer your domain name is the limit of our ability. We do have quite a bit of experience dealing with Network Solutions and can usually point you in the right direction.
