DIGITAL MILLENNIUM COPYRIGHT ACT STATEMENT
blackdot.gif (800 bytes)

Acme Internet, as part of the operations of this system, has put into place Terms Of Service And Acceptable Use Policies which govern subscriber’s use of this system. Two sections of those Terms and Policies relate to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“the Act.”)

First, the section of those Terms and Policies entitled, “Grounds for Suspension and Termination,” provides that a subscriber’s use of this system may be suspended or terminated for using this system in a way which violates intellectual property laws, including copyrights.

Second, the section of those Terms and Policies entitled, “Intellectual Property.” provides the process by which a person who believes that his or her copyright(s) is/are being infringed by means of material hosted on this system.

In compliance with the Act, Acme Internet has designated Ivan Silverman, Director of Operations, as the individual to receive complaints about alleged copyright infringement taking place on this system. To avail yourself of the protections of the Act, if you believe that your copyright(s) is/are being infringed by means of material hosted on this system you must provide a signed notice in writing to Ivan Silverman, Director of Operations, containing a specific identification of the allegedly infringing material and the location(s) on this system where the materials are to be found. Upon receipt of such written notice, Acme Internet will expeditiously remove or block access to the allegedly infringing material, and provide notice to the person who had posted that material. If Acme Internet receives a notification from that person indicating that the claim of infringement was based upon mistake or misidentification, Acme Internet will send you a copy of that notification. Unless you notify Acme Internet of appropriate court action to restrain the alleged infringement, the challenged material will then be restored or other wise made accessible again.
